New Jersey internet gaming · Regulator-first guide · Reviewed October 1, 2026
New Jersey permits regulated internet casino gaming for people aged 21 or older who are physically inside the state. Residency is not the test; location at the time of play is. CrapsPit does not rank or recommend a casino on this page. The safest starting point is the state’s own list of authorized internet gaming sites.
New Jersey legal snapshot
- Minimum age: 21.
- Location: the player must be physically within New Jersey while wagering.
- Residency: New Jersey residency is not required.
- Primary enforcement regulator: New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
- Verification: use the state’s authorized-site list rather than an advertisement or search result.
How to verify a legal internet casino
Open the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement’s Internet Gaming Information page and use its authorized-sites list. Match the resulting domain exactly. A familiar brand name, a paid search ad, or a site that accepts New Jersey registrations is not by itself proof of authorization.
Authorized systems use age and identity controls and geolocation to confirm that play occurs inside state boundaries. A person may create or manage an account under the operator’s rules from elsewhere, but a real-money wager must not be accepted unless the location check places that person in New Jersey.
Is online craps available in New Jersey?
New Jersey authorizes internet casino games, but the regulator’s authorization of a site does not guarantee that a particular craps title is in its current lobby. Game libraries change. Before depositing, search the logged-out game catalog if available and confirm whether the product is RNG craps, a live-dealer presentation, or another dice game with different rules.
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Exact authorized domain | Separates a DGE-authorized site from an imitation or offshore site. |
| Game rules and paytable | “Craps” can include different limits, odds multiples, side bets, and settlement rules. |
| RNG or live dealer | The interface, pace, interruption procedure, and result mechanism differ. |
| Deposit and withdrawal terms | Payment eligibility, verification, limits, and processing rules are separate from game odds. |
| Responsible-gaming controls | Set deposit, loss, or time controls before play where the product provides them. |
What regulation does—and does not—mean
State authorization provides an accountable regulator, game testing and internal-control requirements, identity and location checks, complaint channels, and responsible-gaming obligations. It does not make gambling profitable or eliminate financial harm. Every craps wager retains its published house edge, and higher speed can increase total expected loss even when the edge per dollar is unchanged.
Complaints and gambling controls
Keep screenshots, transaction IDs, game-round references, emails, and the version of any terms that applied. First use the operator’s documented support process. The New Jersey Casino Control Commission explains that the DGE accepts patron complaints involving internet gaming permit holders.
New Jersey also offers voluntary self-exclusion for internet gaming and sports wagering. The state self-exclusion and problem-gambling page provides current enrollment information and lists 1-800-GAMBLER. If gambling is causing harm, stop wagering and use the official support route rather than trying to recover losses.
Use the DGE record for both verification and a dispute
The Division’s internet-gaming page says a site absent from its authorized list is not approved to offer New Jersey internet gaming. Check the exact address before creating an account; a brand can operate several state-specific domains, while an imitation may copy a familiar name. The Commission’s general website can lead you there, but the DGE list is the direct check.
For a disputed craps round, keep the accepted wager, game and round IDs, timestamp, result, balance before and after, and the applicable rule screen. Send the operator a concise written chronology first. If its answer does not resolve the discrepancy, the same DGE internet-gaming page explains the regulator complaint route. A payout disagreement needs a traceable transaction, not an inference from a winning or losing streak.
